RAP asphalt equipment: TTM's Popular Workhorse in Asphalt Recycling
Quanzhou, Fujian. Recycling old asphalt is nothing new, but doing it with genuine efficiency and consistency at a sensible price remains a real challenge. TTM's RAP asphalt equipment, a long standing market favorite from the RLBZ series, has been handling exactly that for years.
The concept is straightforward. It is a modular add on system that plugs into an existing asphalt mixing plant, no need to rebuild the whole production line. For mid sized road contractors watching their budgets, this approach has always made sense.
The system includes a cold RAP feeding module, lifting module, drying drum, heated storage silo, weighing equipment, gas recirculation burner and centralized controls. The drying drum is the heart of it all. TTM designed a special furnace that channels hot exhaust gas (500 to 900 degrees Celsius) to heat reclaimed material indirectly. The aged bitumen never touches an open flame, so aging slows dramatically and final mix quality stays high.
The low pressure burner uses digital air to fuel ratio and frequency control, adjusting the flame in real time to drum conditions. It runs on diesel, heavy oil or natural gas, fully integrated with the main plant controls. Published TTM data shows oil consumption at 6 to 8 kilograms per ton and coal at 13 to 15 kilograms per ton.
On environmental compliance, the system uses two stage dust collection: inertial separation plus a baghouse filter, with extra capture modules at key points. TTM states dust, acid gas and noise levels all meet European standards.
Output spans from 48 tons per hour to 160 tons per hour on the flagship RLBZ2000. Max RAP content ranges from 30 to 50 percent by model. Weighing accuracy holds at plus or minus 0.5 percent static and plus or minus 2.5 percent dynamic across the series.
TTM holds ISO9001, ISO14001, OHSAS 18001, CE, Chinese military quality certification and CU TR. All units are built in Quanzhou, with 30 to 35 day delivery and monthly capacity of about 20 sets.
In the field, RAP asphalt equipment has been running reliably for years at sites including Hong Kong Zhengyi Asphalt Road Engineering. TTM provides free installation supervision, operator training, lifetime technical consulting and regular refresher courses.
For any contractor evaluating RAP processing options, RAP asphalt equipment brings proven engineering and a mature support network to the table. It remains a product worth serious consideration.
